Boy Scouts of America filed for chapter 11 bankruptcy in February 2020 after being hit by a flood of sexual abuse lawsuits. On July 29, 2022, a U.S. judge rejected the Boy Scouts’ reorganization plan and its underlying $250 million sex abuse settlement with the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter-day Saints. Over 80,000 men have alleged sexual abuse by their troop leaders.
