Starbucks executives, directors are sued over diversity policies | Reuters

Opposite the typical discrimination claims commonly faced by companies, Starbucks has been sued for racial discrimination because they do have diversity inclusive policies in place. A Starbucks shareholder has claimed that the increased focus on diversity by Starbucks has harmed the company, and that the goals for increased diversity in the company amount to racial discrimination towards those not classified as a minority. If the shareholder succeeds in his claims, he hopes to void the diversity policies and procedures at Starbucks and have the company receive monetary damages.

[E]xecutives and directors have been sued by a conservative think tank that believes the coffee chain’s efforts to promote diversity amount to racial discrimination.
