Hello Bello, the Baby Brand Founded by Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard, Files for Bankruptcy | WWD

Actors Kristen Bell and Dax Shepard’s baby brand ‘Hello Bello’ has gone bankrupt. The famous baby brand was founded in 2018 and is well-known for its eco-friendly merchandise, ranging from baby diapers to home essentials. High shipping and production costs motivated the company’s insolvency and Chapter 11 filing. In 2021, VMG Partners, the private equity firm endorsing Hello Bello, built its own diaper factory in Waco, Texas in hopes of keeping costs down. As of October, Hildred Capital Management has proposed to acquire the company for $65 million. Moreover, in court papers, Hello Bello lists its assets and liabilities between $100 million to $500 million.

“Given macroeconomic trends, including inflation and increased shipping costs, we believe that this course of action is the best path forward to ensure that Hello Bello continues to bring families the highest quality and most environmentally friendly products at affordable prices.” Erica Buxton, the company’s chief executive officer, said in a statement.
