Thomas H. Curran Associates receives favorable outcome for client from Social Security Administrative Law Judge

On February 25, 2021, Thomas H. Curran Associates obtained a hard fought and long-awaited decision for our client, a leukemia patient, from the Social Security Administration (“SSA”) that determined our client was disabled as a result of his acute leukemia.  The victory comes after Thomas H. Curran Associates successfully reversed the SSA’s determination of no eligibility for disability benefits at the United States District Court for the District of Massachusetts after being appointed by Chief Judge Saris as the client’s appellate counsel on a pro bono basis.  Upon remand to the SSA Administrative Law Judge (“ALJ”), Thomas H. Curran Associates represented the client at an evidentiary hearing, with a supplemental evidentiary record, again on a pro bono basis, and obtained a favorable determination of disability from the ALJ.  The SSA has since granted our client’s benefits retroactively to his disability date.  Both our client and Thomas H. Curran Associates are thrilled with the outcome.
